“Yoobot” for British Heart Foundation

Over 2 million people have created Yoobots!

Developed for the British Heart Foundation, working with our friends at GREY London, we created Yoobot – a free online virtual world and avatar based game that aims to help children think more about the food they are eating and take more responsibility for their own health. 1.2 MILLION people registered Yoobots in year one, and version 2 – “Yoobot vs Yoonot” has increased that number to well over 2 MILLION! The feature packed second edition is crammed with new content, games, creative tools and oodles of your favourite Yoobot mischief.

According to research carried out by the British Heart Foundation, almost three-quarters of 8 to 15-year-olds were not aware that a junk food-laden diet could potentially shorten their life. Yoobot aims to help educate the target audience with a highly engaging, personal and fun interactive experience.

Yoobot uses complex Flash algorithms to help create a “mini-you”, a realistic virtual version of yourself, who you can dress, feed, entertain and exercise.

Once created, your Yoobot’s choice of food and lifestyle has real-world effects on it’s virtual health. The speeding life-cycle helps to show you how your choices effect your weight, your health and ultimately your life expectancy.

Packed full of real-world facts, foods, information and accurate medical outcomes, thanks to a team of specialists (doctors, nutritionists, physical education consultants and pediatricians), as well as tons of games to play, Yoobot has far exceeded expectation with over 2 million users – and it’s still growing!

Yoobot has also picked up a good few awards along the way, including the Best Digitally Led Marketing Campaign at the Marketing Society Awards, as well as NMA Campaign of the Month and a Cannes Cyber Lions nomination, to name a few.

More than 50% of the UK’s 11-13 year olds now have a Yoobot.
