We developed this multiplayer web game to promote the release of Far Cry 2, Ubisoft’s hugely popular First Person Shooter.
In Far Cry 2 you are sent into war-torn Africa to take out “The Jackal”, a mysterious character who has rekindled the conflict between two rival warlords, jeopardizing thousands of lives.
In Far Cry 2: Jackal Hunt, we put you in a live real-world player environment where you’re tasked with hunting down your nearest rivals and eliminating them, before they eliminate you!
The world map, events and power-ups are all fully integrated with items and events from the full game, and players were able to compete for a selection of official merchandise and other exclusive prizes, prior to the games major release.
The multiplayer web game was supported by an online ad campaign (also developed by Bloc) as well as online PR.
